The pandemic couldn’t stop the biggest Magento event from happening and we are extremely satisfied with how the first-ever virtual Meet Magento India, on February 4, 2021, turned out!
Meet Magento India 2021 took place at its usual time with similar enthusiasm, participation, and a lot of learning. Wangento organized the 4th annual Meet Magento India event on a digital platform supported by Hubilo. This is considered to be one of the biggest eCommerce events in the country acknowledging the Magento community and its contributions. We are glad to be able to witness something so big!
Meet Magento India 2021 was blessed with over 40 renowned speakers to deliver nearly 30 sessions including the keynote by Jonathan Roeder from Adobe, a cross-border growth opportunity with Payments by Nath Parmeshwaran from PayPal India, and many more. We were glad to be a gold sponsor for this event and enjoyed every bit of our presence there. So without any further ado, let’s delve into what caught our attention at the event and why it did.
Meet Magento Events provide a great platform for Magento developers, partners, agencies, and individuals who are enthusiasts of this community. Majorly, Magento Events are known as the stepping stones for eCommerce businesses and service providers in finding the right set of opportunities. And other than breaking the barrier of a place or physical presence, this year’s virtual Meet Magento India was all of it and more. It had one or the other thing lined up for its varied kinds of attendees. Let’s go through some of them…
To diminish the interaction barrier, the organizers arranged virtual booths for their sponsors. The booth allows fellow sponsor agencies, speakers, and attendees to connect virtually. The sponsors had individual booths with a sitting capacity of four. People who want to interact with them were able to find them through the sponsors’ list and have a session of discussion. This way, the networking issue, which otherwise could have been a great drawback, was avoided. One of the members needs to simply be available at the booth for others to join in and chat. The arrangement was easy to understand, a lot useful, and glitch-free.
People who had signed up for the event got access to the event feed at Meet Magento India. Sponsors, Speakers, and attendees were able to post discussions and polls on this feed upon the organizers’ approval. People were engaging in the posts and participating in polls. This arrangement, at a certain level, helped the attendees in keeping up with the sessions, service providers’ activities, and more.
Just like any previous Meet Magento events, the virtual one this time was also brimming with speakers. They had nearly 40 speakers lined up for various sessions that served the purpose of the entire event. Some of the worth mentioning sessions were:
1. Enabling Growth: The opportunity beyond borders by PayPal India’s Corporate Affairs Director – Nath Parmeshwaran. He shared insights about how by conjoining technologies, PayPal and Magento are going beyond borders to enable cross-border eCommerce transactions.
2. Keynote on Future of eCommerce in India by Matthew Mcclelland from Dotdigital and Siddhant Bhalinge from Ugaoo.com. These gentlemen talked about marketing automation and how Magento helped them build a very complex business model with ease. The entrepreneur from India (Ugaoo.com) shared his hands-on experience of using Magento cloud for his business whistles, Matthew on the other hand, displayed some groundbreaking information on how India is on a digital wave.
3. The technical track (taken up by Adobe people) on the agenda served a purpose for the advancements that the Magento platform has been bringing to the table. With demo sessions on Magento Site-wide Analysis Tool (SWAT) by Barnet Hellman from Adobe, Hyva: a new hope by Vinai Kopp and Willem Wigman, a PHP 8 and Magento session by Sergii Ivashchenko, a session for Magento Indexers by Arif Ahmad, and a Magento 2 extension session by Gareth James from PureClarity were utterly dedicated to the developers’ community and how they can deliver better in terms of Magento store building.
4. The business track has some interesting speaker sessions too which included – a Magento merchant success story by Marsha Naidoo from Krish TechnoLabs, a session on security by Adrian Luna from WebScales, a session on Business Intelligence (BI) and consumer psychology by Vatsal Shah, and more.
The tremendous speaker lineup gave some valuable insights on how the community is growing and what all should be done to keep its integrity intact. Some of the highlights were:
We were a proud gold sponsor for the event and got our country head and a very active member from the Magento community – Marsha Naidoo as the speaker for the event. Marsha shared a client’s case study who got amazing results ever since migrating to the Magento platform. HT Paint is one of our clients that got an eStore of their dreams with the help of our technocrats. If you’d like to listen to her session, head over to the rewatch link.
During her session, she established that “ Subscription commerce increases recurring revenue and builds relations”.
Other than that, two of our representatives were present at the booth at all times to attend to the visitors and solve their queries. They had some interesting conversations with fellow sponsor agencies where they discussed mutually-benefiting opportunities.
All in all, it was an eCommerce event that established digital commerce as a solution for the future, and exceptional customer service as the only way to win. At the end of the event, the organizers announced dates for the Meet Magento India 2022 to be January 29, 2022, and with a hope to meet everyone in-person at the next event, it ended with smiles, lessons, and connections.
The virtual booth might be unavailable, but we are always available to address all your queries regarding accelerating your business. All you need to do is get in touch…
